Good Job, 7-Eleven – Now I Can Get Slurpees, Hot Dogs, and Good Beer From You

So, it was a typical Monday night and I was perusing the U.S. Open Beer Championship website last night and it seemed the usual players took home some awards.  Breweries like Deschutes, Stone, Boston Beer (Sam Adams) etc., were all present.  And then I stumbled upon this.

Good for you, 7 Eleven. Rock and roll.

Apparently, at the 2010 United States Open Beer Championships, where winners were announced at the beginning of July, 7-Eleven’s Game Day Light, which is contract brewed by City Brewing in La Crosse, Wisconsin, won the category of American Light.  That’s quite the feat for a beer that was only released this year. So, now if I ever get a craving for a Slurpee, an old hot dog, or American Light Beer, I can get it all at 7-Eleven.  Sweet.

Oh, and one more thing.  May I suggest pairing Game Day Light with some good old Kennedy Fried Chicken.
